THE PHYSICAL BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST # 15121

The Bible says, "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." Immanuel means God with us. Isaiah 7:14.--“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9: 6.— “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” Micah 5:2. It was prophesied that a virgin would conceive a child, what his attributes would be, and where he would be born, but what was not prophesied was the exact time all this would occur. The fulfillment of the promise took place centuries later. During all those years of waiting, each generation of Israel wished that the fulfillment would take place during their time, and the next generation hoped for the same, and so on. The day finally came, because the promises of God are always fulfilled, and God knew the perfect time to bring salvation to the world through His Son. It had to be the precise moment for God to act, and that was the moment.

And the Virgin Mary - as prophesied - conceived and gave birth to a son. It is wonderful to see the fulfillment of God's promises, not in our time, but in His time, when God, who has the complete image, determines the moment. Nothing is random, nothing occurs by chance. At that moment the world felt completely lost and hopeless without God.  Humanity felt enslaved and trapped without alternatives.  The separation from God was excessive, as if they were in a hole with no way out. Salvation would come through the Jewish people, because He was going to be born in Bethlehem, but He was the Saviour of the world. The Lord Jesus Christ verified it when he said, "I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."John 10:16. And since then He has been looking for us.

This is the greatest event that humanity has seen since time exists. We know there have been many other teachers and prophets; however, there has not been one who has achieved what the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished and is still accomplishing. No one else has ever died and risen from the dead to show us that death is an illusion.  Even a new calendar began after His resurrection. The years started over with year 1, after He completed God’s plan of Redemption.  He was not only a good teacher or a prophet; He was “the Christ the Son of the living God." What was the purpose of His coming? He came to bring a message of love and hope from our Heavenly Father, to remind us how He loves us and He is waiting for us. The Lord Jesus Christ came to show us the way back to God because we had wandered away. We felt totally disconnected from God. He brought the Holy Spirit -- which is the Voice of God -- to us. Now He lives with us and in us.

The Kingdom of Heaven, which is composed by the Holy Trinity, is within us, and we have His promise that if we make it our first priority to look for the Kingdom of God, which is spiritual; everything else, all the material, is going to be given to us automatically. No one came to work to earn their daily bread.  That is not the purpose of our lives. We are here, rather, to do the job we were entrusted to do, and until we begin doing it, our place in the Kingdom remains vacant.  The assignment God gave us is so important because nobody can do it better than we. Our place is being reserved for us; God won’t give it to the first one to arrive. It is interesting to notice that even though the Lord Jesus Christ came to everyone, He did not go to teach the intellectuals because they have a preconceived notion of how things should be.  They take a truth, tear it apart, analyze each part, and determine that it cannot be truth because it does not match their ideas.  It is impossible to teach something to someone who believes he already knows.  So the Lord went to people who possess an open and receptive mind, who welcomed His message.

It still continues to be like that. There are many who are only looking for information so they can consider themselves more intelligent than others, or to compare their beliefs with others, unfortunately it will become difficult for them to find the Truth, because it will not make sense to them. They will analyze and dissect the idea until it disappears completely, in the mean time they are missing peace, love, and the miracles that God is doing for us.

First we need to understand God’s promise, and then we need to accept it and make it a personal belief. We need to see Jesus Christ as our Savior, the One who came to show us the way back, and did it only out of love, without being concerned about the suffering He would have to endure.  He set aside His own convenience, and came into this dream, this nightmare which is this world, to teach us how to wake up.  There are things we need to learn and do as we move through time, such as learning how to move in the midst of adversity, how to live in the midst of constant struggle without being part of it, accepting that God is, that He is present at all times.  There is no place where He is not present, and He is ready to help us.

The Lord Jesus Christ taught us how our mistakes can be corrected with the help of the Holy Spirit. He taught us the importance of living in the present, in the now, since it is precisely now that we can correct our past mistakes, that we may have a better future. The past no longer exists, and we cannot go back to correct it.  But right now, in the present, we can change our way of thinking. We cannot do it alone.  That is why we need to invite our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to become our Guides and our Teachers.  If we do this, our lives will change completely.  The decision to choose Them as our Guides is totally personal.  It is an individual, intimate decision, a decision that anyone can make wherever they are, no matter the circumstance.  There is no need to make preparations, no need to go to a particular building, or have witnesses.  It is an intimate moment with God.  He loves us, just as we are, and His acceptance for us is guaranteed. No one is rejected.

“The sign of Christmas is a star, a light in darkness.  See it not outside yourself, but shining in the Heaven within, and accept it as the sign the time of Christ has come.  He comes demanding nothing.  No sacrifice of any kind, of anyone, is asked by Him.  In His Presence the whole idea of sacrifice loses all meaning.  For He is Host to God.  And you need but invite Him in Who is there already, by recognizing that His Host is One, and no thought alien to His Oneness can abide with Him there. This Christmas give the Holy Spirit everything that would hurt you.  Let yourself be healed completely that you may join with Him in healing, and let us celebrate our release together by releasing everyone with us.  Leave nothing behind, for release is total, and when you have accepted it with me you will give it with me.  All pain and sacrifice and littleness will disappear in our relationship, which is as innocent as our relationship with our Father, and as powerful.  Pain will be brought to us and disappear in our presence, and without pain there can be no sacrifice.  And without sacrifice there love must be.” ACIM T.15 XI.2-3
